Walking

Hey there!

Is anyone interested in starting a walking club (hehe sounds so ... I don't know school aged :)).

We could meet at a Blue Beech corner and walk .. this way if you want to do it every night or every other night you can choose!

A few of you may walk already ... and have a better system, I am just feeling like I need to walk now that the weather is getting better ...and the more support the better ! :).

Does anyone have a suggestion on the time? 6:30 or 7:00? <-- pm of course :)

  1. That would be great! Elsie and I had planned on walking this spring but it's so hard to find the time. Because I'm getting the kids ready for bed between 7 & 8 pm, walking earlier is difficult. I'm not sure if 8 pm is too late (well, 8pm is probably not possible quite yet as it's dark by 7:30 or so). What does everyone else think?

  2. Thanks Tharesa for putting this together and inviting me !! I agree with you Lori, although I do not have little ones...afterschool activities, dinner, and homework (the 7th grader !!) make it such that 8pm is better for me too. I think that the idea of meeting at a corner at a certain time, and those that can make it show up is excellent, since so many of us are interested in walking. This is great !!

  3. Tharesa, count me in. I can make whatever time works best for everyone. Once summer comes, 8pm would be fine....but I agree that for right now, it's too dark for 8pm. I like the idea of picking a corner, and who ever is there can go.

  4. 8pm works for me!
    According to www.timeanddate.com on
April 16th the sun will set at 7:50...and on April 27th the sun will set at 8:00...
From what I can tell it stays a bit light out 20-30 min after the "sun sets", so as long as we have 2 or 3 people I would be willing to start walking within the next couple of weeks .. well as long as it wasn't raining ... oh and it has to be warmer than 55! :)

  8. I would love to join in... eventually. I don't think you will want me to join in a week or so before my due date. Although going into labor during the first walk would make things interesting. But after the baby is born I imagine it will be a nice break for me.

  9. Now that I know the time and date, I will meet everyone there when I can. I have class on Monday and Thursday until the beginning of May. Then classes start again the end of May and I am not sure what two days it will be yet. So basically I will be there when I can!!

  10. We'll be in Myrtle Beach (yea!) on the 16th, so I can't make the first official walk. But count me in for all the rest. Just post when the next walk is!

    Lori, which house is yours?

  11. Susan, lucky you! I'm #4242 which is the grey two-story house with the red door on the corner (across from the grey ranch).

  12. "gray" not "grey"...never write with children attached to your legs!
